Ecocreeper

Ecocreeper® takes a fresh approach to the streetwear you choose for an action packed life. More people and no more planet means we all have to think differently about the way we live. Ecocreeper is dedicated to helping preserve our world for ourselves today and to protect it for the benefit of future generations. Graham launched Ecocreeper in 2010 and it is now available on-line, at selected retail outlets and is warn by the staff of a number of ecological and ethically aware companies. The streetwear we sell is designed to minimise the impact you make on the planet while playing fair with the people who produced it. Ecocreeper stuff has been ethically sourced and responsibly made, from organic and or recycled materials. We believe it's the least we should all be doing as part of a global community.

EcoCreeper

What's more Ecocreeper gives £3.00 for every Imps T and £6.00 for every Imps sweat we sell to The Impstart Trust. The Imps is a non-profit-making organisation that educates young people through a disciplined, dynamic and challenging programme of activities with a world renowned motorcycle display team at its heart. EcoCreeper believes in the power of the individual and the strength of the team.

We have set out a charter for business to ensure that, as an organisation, we set the ethical and environmental standards we think necessary to meet the broader challenges faced by the people of the world. Yes we use recycled stationery, reduce the amount of packaging our products are dispatched in and source as locally as possible, to reduce air miles - but we are also dedicated to improving our knowledge of sustainable living and to sharing our good fortune with our suppliers, many of whom live in challenging conditions in developing countries. All this doesn't stop us having fun, however, and we believe that we can create a mash up of cultures and ideas to bring about a change for the better. One thing's for sure - Even if your friends don't know that you've decided to make a positive difference, they will, undoubtedly, notice how cool you look in EcoCreeper streetwear.

90% carbon reduced gear from Ecocreeper

EcoCreeper

Growing the raw materials for Ecocreeper gear is low-impact organic and much of our gear is produced creating 90% lower CO2. These items are all marked with our '90% carbon reduced' mark. It is produced under Global Organic Textile Standard from Indian cotton and certified by the Soil Association – Licence No. DK 19090. These Ecocreeper products are also produced under the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and certified by Control Union and are GMO-free.

Farming and Manufacturing

Under the organic standard, farmers and agricultural workers are protected by stringent social criteria, total traceability across the entire supply chain, and also by the ban on the use of poisonous chemicals that can severely damage the health of farmers and their families. All Ecocreeper '90% carbon reduced' gear complies with the criteria of the Fair Wear Foundation which promotes fair labour conditions and audits our suppliers and their suppliers accordingly. All Ecocreeper products marked '90% carbon reduced' are manufactured in a factory using renewable green energy generated from the wind power of thirty massive wind turbines that turn wind power into clean renewable electricity.

Looking after our water

It can take more than 20,000 litres of water to produce 1kg of cotton, equivalent to a single T-shirt and a pair of jeans. Ecocreeper’s '90% carbon reduced' cotton is grown in Gujarat India that receives 95% of its water from the monsoon, reducing the need for the extensive irrigation normally required to grow cotton. Large irrigation projects can often deprive local farmers of scarce water resources by draining lakes and rivers. The processing of dye effluent takes place in a controlled closed-loop purification system that uses treatment ponds, sand filtration and reverse osmosis to convert the waste water into clean water.

Transportation of your Ecocreeper gear

Ecocreeper '90% carbon reduced' has a ‘no airfreight’ policy. Using containerised ocean shipping to transport from India to Europe , Japan and the USA, the carbon released during transportation of your Ecocreeper gear during this part of its journey to you, represents less than 1% of the total Creeper Gear carbon foot print. Your gear is distributed through carbon neutral warehouses in the UK that use only renewable green energy.

Ecocreeper '90% carbon reduced' gear

The carbon footprint is the total carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane, nitrous oxide and other ‘greenhouse’ gases emitted during cultivation and harvesting, processing, production, packaging, transportation and warehousing in the UK. All Ecocreeper '90% carbon reduced' has a vastly reduced carbon footprint using a combination of better product design, manufacturing efficiency, ‘low-impact’ organic agriculture, substituting grid electricity with reneable wind power and small water foot print. We do not use carbon offsets. The products that comprise our '90% carbon reduced' range are the first textile products to be granted a Carbon Trust verification label. You can also make a significant contribution to reducing environmental damage by washing at low temperatures and by line drying all of your EcoCreeper gear in the fresh air. “Unplug your old tumble dryer and become an EcoCreeper.”
